The Heart or the Head
The heart is a muscular organ in most animals, which pumps blood through the blood vessels of the circulatory system. However, I am not here to talk about the physical function of the heart but am going to talk about the heart in its metaphorical or symbolic sense as the center of emotion, including affection and love.
Of all the "logical' things in this world-love isn't one of them. One school of thought mentioned that we never love in the same way twice and I totally agree, because each person is different and so is how we care about them, what is really important is if we love them from the heart or with our heads.
Loving with our heads may be satisfying but it's not soul-enriching and it won't ever be that once-in-a-lifetime type of love. Furthermore, loving someone with our heads is a choice that we make, but loving someone with our hearts is a choice that is made for us.
I have come to realize that love is a beautiful thing especially if it comes from the heart, with this type of love we cannot attempt to conceal the floodgates of emotions with the futile blocks of denial and self-sabotage, but the only thing that this love does is grow stronger when the heart knows what or rather whom it's meant for, nothing can stand in the way.
Love with our hearts is most time inconvenient and differs greatly from the comfort present when we love with our heads. Loving with your heart can be challenging, because everything we had expected to be true about the love we have to leave behind, importantly we have to trust the path we are on.
Love with your heart.
