Choices by Trevor Duncan

I had a conversation with someone recently who reminded me of the impact that the choices we make in life could have. How the things that we do have such an adverse effect on the people around us. Too often we choose to take the bad from a lesson rather than the good or we choose to do the wrong as opposed to the right. Why is it that we think that hurting each other is the first thing we need to do in an argument? Why not walk away or even count to ten?

With each day I am further appalled at the things human beings consider to do to each other in the wake of a disagreement. Why is it that you value your life more than mine or even the other person? Dalai Lama states that “It is very rare or almost impossible that an event can be negative from all points of view”. If then why can't we think that it is good in everything and appreciate it or possibly think that everything in our lives happens for a reason?  If we could step back and look at life from a different perspective then we will realize that there is so much more to it.

I know sometimes that we might be hurt by what is going on around us or the things that people say or do. But, what if we could for once see our life outside of our own bodies and look down from above from that birds-eye view, to see the choices that we make at times and correct them. What if we could slow life down for just that one second in that instance?  Do you think then you/we would do something different, do you? I believe that we would.  The Choices we make are very important and it could be the determinant fact between the grave, prison or freedom. Choose wisely.

Sometimes you don't know where life will take you. We just have to trust the process and know that God will take us where we are supposed to be. So no matter how bad something seems at present there will be a better way or we have a choice to do differently.

According to   Lord Jesus' words in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.  Then why do you fail to believe that if He has brought you to it, He won't bring you through it? Trust the process. Live, laugh and love.
